REEF BUDDY
PHILIPPINES
Join us in marine conservation through hands-on educational experiences.
Partnering with The Dive Hub in Dauin to create lasting impact for our ocean ecosystems.
Our Story:
From Carriacou to Dauin – The Next Chapter
In 2016 Caribbean Reef Buddy began restoring coral reefs and transforming coastal communities in the Caribbean using a simple but powerful Trinity Model: scientific monitoring, active habitat restoration, and community education & empowerment.
The results spoke for themselves: thousands of corals planted, hundreds of divers trained as citizen scientists, and community mindset shifting from reef exploitation to reef guardianship.
Now, in 2025, the same founding team and proven methodology are coming home to one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems on Earth – the coral triangle waters of Dauin, Negros Oriental.
Reef Buddy Philippines is not a start-from-scratch project. It is the deliberate expansion of a model that already works, adapted to the unique beauty and urgent needs of Philippine reefs.
Our Three Pillars Remain the Same:
Hands-On Education: Turn passionate travelers into skilled reef ambassadors through SSI diving courses, citizen-science training, and real restoration work.
Authentic Local Partnerships: Deep collaboration with Dauin’s dive centers, barangays, and fishing communities so conservation creates jobs, not just rules.
Lasting, Measurable Impact: The Trinity Focus in action: monitor threats with data, restore habitats with nurseries and transplants, and transform mindsets through education – ensuring reefs that thrive long after we’re gone.
We’ve done it before. We’re ready to do it again – this time in the heart of the Coral Triangle.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR 2026
"Amidst the hustle and bustle of our age, let us not forget the quiet crisis unfolding beneath the waves. The coral reefs, those ancient, vibrant cities of the sea, are facing unprecedented stress. It is our privilege and responsibility to be the custodians of these mesmerizing ecosystems, ensuring they thrive as a testament to the wonders of our planets biodiversity."
- Sir David Attenborough
